The Skills4Nuclear kick-off meeting, held in Gothenburg on 1 and 2 April 2025, marked the official launch of the project.
The event was kindly hosted by Project coordinator Teodora Retegan Vollmer, from Chalmers University of Technology, and gathered project partners from across European industries, research centres and training bodies to discuss the objectives of this new 3-year project, which include:
- Addressing workforce and skill shortages in EU nuclear fission and fusion sectors
- Fostering industry-driven workforce development for the European nuclear sector
- Creating a European Forum for Nuclear Workforce and Skills
- Developing a Nuclear Skills Strategy
- Implementing reskilling and upskilling programs for workers to transition into nuclear roles
- Developing a series of recommendations and tools aimed at attracting more people to the nuclear sector
