S4N partners meet in plenary to discuss project progress

On 29 September 2026, Skills4Nuclear (S4N) Partners met online in plenary to discuss the project’s progress and work packages developments. The meeting marked the end of the project’s first reporting period, running from month 1 to month 18.

As part of the meeting, each Work Package leader presented their progress on deliverables, relevant milestones achieved, and upcoming activities.

The plenary started with an update on Work Package 1 (project management) from Evalion’s Jakub Heller. He specifically announced amendments to the grant agreement to formalise the inclusion of Université des Métiers du Nucléaire (UMN) as a new consortium partner and of France Universités (FU) as associated partner, and provided a reminder on the project’s timeline.

Jakub’s presentation was followed by an overview of Work Package 4 (Education, Training & Re-skilling) progress, given by ENEN’s Gabriel Pavel. Gabriel specifically detailed the contents of Deliverable 4.3, and discussed upcoming tasks foreseen under the Work Package.

Nucleareurope’s Jessica Johnson then presented progress on Work Package 3 (Communication & Attractiveness). So far, three Deliverables have been produced: a Communications Toolkit, a Dissemination Plan, and a Stakeholder Engagement Action Plan. Jessica also noted that an attractiveness workshop will be held in Brussels on 25 November 2026, and that an attractiveness toolkit will be published at a later stage.

Following Jessica’s presentation, Niels Bielmans and Tom Clarijs, on behalf of SCK CEN, detailed the activities carried out within Work Package 2 (European Forum for Nuclear Workforce and Skills). They specifically focused on the workforce assessments analysis conducted within the Work Package, and on the preparations towards a European Forum for Nuclear Workforce and Skills.

Work Package 5 (Strategic Foresight & Funding Opportunities) activities were then presented by Unicaen’s Valentin Mignon, who delved into the recent submission of a proposal for a Centre of Vocational Excellence (CoVE). He gave an overview of the proposal and outlined its objectives, before detailing future activities to be carried out within the Work Package, such as the mapping of regional nuclear skills hubs.

Concluding the meeting, SNN’s Andreea Nedelcu discussed Work Package 6 (Nuclear Skills Strategy). She gave updates on the development of the Nuclear Skills Strategy to be published, and outlined upcoming milestones for the Work Package.

The next plenary meeting will be held in Prague on 22–23 April 2027.
